Prescription of Medication: Coaches cannot prescribe or adjust medication. Click on the “Consult with a medical provider” button on your dashboard to contact your Oar medical provider to ask about an adjustment to your prescription.
Diagnosis of Alcohol Use Disorder: Coaches do not diagnose mental health or medical conditions; only a licensed healthcare provider such as a physician or nurse practitioner can make a formal diagnosis.
Therapy or Counseling: Coaching is not a substitute for psychotherapy or counseling. If deeper emotional or psychological issues arise, a licensed therapist should be involved.
Medical Monitoring: Coaches do not monitor the physical effects of medication or manage any side effects. If you are experiencing uncomfortable side effects, click on the “Consult with a medical provider” button on your dashboard to contact your Oar medical provider.
Emergency or Crisis Intervention: Coaches are not equipped to handle emergency situations, such as severe alcohol withdrawal, which require immediate medical attention. If you are experiencing severe alcohol withdrawal, dial 911.
