Can I take naltrexone with other medications?

Updated over a year ago

Naltrexone can be safely used with many other medications, but it should not be taken alongside any opioid-based medications, as it blocks opioid receptors and can cause withdrawal symptoms in individuals who are dependent on opioids. If you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications, it’s important to inform your healthcare provider to ensure that there are no potential interactions. Naltrexone does not generally interact with medications like antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications, which are often prescribed for individuals dealing with addiction-related mood disorders.
